Privacy Policy
Effective date: March 22, 2026
1. Introduction
WatchCron is operated by Vitalii Holben. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use our cron job and heartbeat monitoring platform, how that data is processed, and the choices available to you. By creating an account or sending pings to our endpoints you consent to the practices outlined below.
2. Information We Collect
We gather only the data necessary to deliver and improve the service:
- Account data — name, email address, and a securely hashed password provided during registration.
- Billing data — payment transactions are handled entirely by our merchant of record, Paddle. We do not store credit card numbers or banking details on our servers.
- Monitoring data — when your scheduled tasks send pings, we record the timestamp, source IP address, HTTP method, user agent string, and any optional body payload you include.
- Automatic technical data — browser type, operating system, referral source, and pages visited. This data is collected through essential, first-party mechanisms only.
3. How We Use Your Information
Your data serves the following purposes:
- Operating, maintaining, and improving the monitoring service.
- Delivering real-time alerts when your checks change status.
- Processing subscriptions and generating invoices via Paddle.
- Sending critical service announcements and security notifications.
- Detecting and preventing abuse, fraud, or unauthorized access.
- Analyzing aggregated, anonymized usage trends to guide product development.
4. Data Retention
Ping history is retained according to the limits of your subscription plan. When you delete a check, all associated ping records are permanently erased. API request logs are purged after 90 days. If you close your account, personal data is removed within 30 days, except where a longer retention period is required by applicable law.
5. Data Security
We apply industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including TLS encryption for all data in transit, bcrypt hashing for passwords, and strict role-based access controls for internal systems. API keys are generated with cryptographically secure random values. While we take every reasonable precaution, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely immune to risk.
6. Third-Party Services
We rely on a limited number of external processors:
- Paddle — payment processing and subscription management.
- Notification providers — when you configure channels such as Slack, Telegram, or email, alert messages are routed through those platforms on your behalf.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data through your account settings.
- Export your monitoring data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent for non-essential processing at any time.
- Opt out of product update emails (transactional messages about your account will still be sent).
- Request full account deletion by contacting us.
8. Cookies
WatchCron uses essential cookies solely for authentication and session management. We do not employ third-party advertising trackers or cross-site analytics cookies.
9. Children
Our service is not directed at individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can promptly remove it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on our website. The "Effective date" at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.
11. Contact
